There’s a new beauty brand in town – and by town, I mean North America, the USA, the Midwest and Chicago. Warm welcome to Charlotte Tilbury, a renown make up artist from the UK who has a killer line of make up and creams.
I’ve been told that Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue is the only counter in the Midwest, and it’s definitely worth a visit. Here’s what you’ll find:
10 different looks and all the make up that it took to create them. The model in each of the looks is the same, so you can really get a sense of the transformation. And you can blend the “looks” – like, I’m a mix of The Rocker and The Ingénue – smokey eyes, pink lips, and rosy cheeks.
A minimal selection of eye shadows, lip sticks and glosses, and blushes. This is probably the most unique part of her line – she doesn’t go crazy with options. She carefully picked only a few that complements your eye color, skin shade, and that pulls together the look you’re going for.
Skin care. Her Magic Cream is game changing. With ONE application, it makes your skin plump, dewy, soft and an unmistakably glowing. I swear it. I watched the lady put it on my mum, and couldn’t believe it. There’s also a line of foundation that does pretty much the same thing as the Magic Cream, but with color to even out your skin tone. Yes, please!
My favorite purchase of the day was The Retoucher. Again, I watched a demo on my mum and practically leaped on to the chair so that the lady at the counter could do my eyes next. You dab a few tiny dots under your eyes, blend with your finger, and those dark circles that have been camping out are GONE. Immediately vacated from your face. Vanished. Totally insane!
If you can’t make it to Nordstrom, go to the website and take a chance on some items online. Remember, that you can always return your purchases from Nordstrom with free shipping and returns. But, if you choose wisely, it won’t be necessary.
