I love every little tiny bit of you. Thank you for making me a Mummy. You have made me a better woman, here’s how:
Your curiosity and constant inquisition has sparked my creativity as I try to find an innovative answer to your string of “whys”.
You’ve taught me the true meaning of patience. You’re a sassy, smart little mini-human and VERY determined. You love to “do it allllllll by myself” and I have to let you learn, succeed and rejoice, fail and get frustrated. I have to stand by and watch you work through whatever is going on in your small little body when all I really want to do is fix it for you.
When you’re waiting for me to pick you up from school, take you to the park, or cook you dinner, an evaluation of priorities takes place. You’ve reframed my definition of urgent in the best way possible.
Now that you pick out your own outfits, I’ve learned to surrender. Yes, blue star leggings, a turquoise summer dress, a coral cardigan, and purple converse high top go perfectly together, ZeeZee. You look amazing.
I am now acutely aware of time – how quickly time passes watching you grow, and how long the day seems when you’re being a maniac two year old.
Since becoming a mom, I have only once before experienced magical love – the totally overwhelming, take your breath away, bring you to tears kind. I felt it when I met your Daddy and the minute I met you for the first time, my little Lentil.
Zee – I’ve never been happier than I have been over the past 2.5+ years being your mum. Love you baby girl.
